The Three Sisters: Introductory Conquest 2 is a scenario in Civilization III: Conquests. This is a simplified version of Mesoamerica created to showcase the game variation of Reverse Capture the Flag.

Description[]

In the center of our lands the Three Sisters lie ominously quiet. For once their deep rumbling and acrid smoke does not threaten our land and our people. But who knows when one of these unsettled mountains of fire will again speak, spewing forth a rain of deadly fire and suffocating fumes? The bellies of the Three Sisters are empty and unsatisfied. They grumble for an offering -- the delivery of a valuable treasure into their fiery pit. But be on guard -- the path to the Three Sisters is ripe with danger and thick with wild barbarians.

Intro[]

Background[]

During the early morning hours, holy priests begin their purification rituals. The silence is broken by the rhythmic beat of drums. Echoes reach out into the lush jungle, and the soft voice of Rain Flower, The Chosen Maiden, sings of the Three Sisters. Clothed in fine woolens, she smiles, knowing she has been chosen to quench the thirst of the fire mountains, thus helping to insure the survival of her people.

Special[]

This tutorial introduces the new REVERSE CAPTURE THE FLAG victory point scoring system. After starting the game, note that your civilization has a Mountain Gods Treasure unit in its capital. Using the Satisfy Gods button in the unit controls panel at the center bottom of your screen, you can pick up the “treasure” unit and transport it to a volcano (visible near the center of the map).

Victory[]

In order to win, you need to deliver Treasures to the Three Sisters. When a unit transporting a treasure stands atop a volcano, the treasure is automatically delivered. Once you make a successful sacrifice, a new treasure automatically reappears in your capital city. Each treasure delivery to a volcano increases your VP score by 6000. Victory points are also scored through unit elimination, conquest and wonder construction.

Notes[]

Leaving a unit to guard a volcano prevents another civilization from delivering to it. But beware! Volcanoes are unpredictable -- and dangerous! If you want to review this introduction, simply click on the small button with the letter "I", located in the lower right corner of the screen.
