Effect[]
The Theater provides entertainment for both the hard working masses and the cultural elite. This diversion increases a city's happiness by 1 and doubles the power of Entertainers in the city.
Great Library entry[]
The Greek theater represented a departure from previous traditions, which focused solely on religious duty. By the 5th century BC, increased personal liberty had broadened the forum of public debate, and political dialogue crept onto the stage in the works of Euripedes, Sophocles, and Aristophanes. Aristophanes' plays, produced during the Peloponnesian War, attacked the War Party and advocated peace. Theater as political weapon had arrived.
