Hexagonal tiles are the basic quantum of location in Civilization VI. All units, cities, districts, improvements, and wonders are located on a particular tile.

Every tile has terrain with possible features, and have an overall Appeal rating. Tiles are assigned to particular continents during map generation for geographical organization. The usage of Lenses on the UI allows players to view more detailed information on tiles.
