A tile is one of the basic hexagonal quantities of location in Civilization VI and its expansions. All units, cities, Districts, improvements, and wonders are located on a particular tile.
Every tile is characterized by its base terrain with possible features. All land tiles also have an Appeal rating. Water tiles only have an Appeal rating if they have a natural wonder. Tiles are assigned to particular continents during map generation for geographical organization. The usage of lenses on the UI allows players to view more detailed information on tiles.
If a tile is within a city's borders and no more than 3 hexes away from its City Center, a Citizen can provide that tile's yields to the city by working it. Tiles may also contain resources that further enhance their yields and/or provide additional benefits, such as the ability to produce certain military units or generate
Power for buildings (in Gathering Storm).
