Great Library entry[]

By the second Millennium BC, Trade had become a critical aspect of any successful civilization. As Trade grew, merchants and governments sought to control the most valuable of the commodities. The East India Company, for instance, was formed to monopolize Trade between Europe and Asia. The discovery and creation of new trade routes became increasingly important. It was during this time that daring explorers like Christopher Columbus risked everything to open new trade routes for their home nations.
