The Trireme is a unit in Civilization: Call to Power.
Summary[]
The Trireme gives the player access to the inland seas for the first time. Triremes can only move along Beaches and Shallow water. Both combatant and ferry, the Trireme can endure limited naval battle and, by transporting up to two units, can expand the player's empire across the sea.

The Trireme represented several hundred years of naval evolution. Before the eighth century BC, the Greeks fought with the pentekonter, named for the fifty oars that powered the sh seventh century these single level craft had evolved a second tier of rowers and by 680 BC, the first trieres or 'three-rower" ships graced the Mediterranean waves. The Trireme dominated the Mediterranean throughout the rest of the millennium.
