Strategy

Truffles, a new resource added in Gods & Kings, appear on Forest, Marsh, and (more rarely) Jungle tiles. They're accessed via Camps, which allows you to preserve the Forest on the tile. Like all other luxury resources that are accessed this way, their bonus is 2 Gold, which makes them nice to settle a city on.

A rare and expensive delicacy, truffles are the fruit of a family of mushrooms that grow underground. With a pungent aroma and powerful taste, truffles are used primarily for seasoning dishes in a variety of international cuisines. One of the more unusual aspects are the means by which they are acquired, that is via "truffle hog." These pigs, domesticated and used specifically for the purposed of finding underground truffles, are naturally gifted in the hunt. With an uncanny sense of smell, truffle hogs are said to have been in use since the Roman Era.
