The University allows a city to educate its people in liberal arts and professional studies, which increases a city's overall science by 50%.

Great Library entry[]

Universities appeared in the Eastern Roman Empire as early as 425 AD, with the establishment of the (Christian) University of Constantinople. By the 12th century, European Universities offered specialized courses in medicine and astrology. At Salerno, medical studies required three general years plus four specialized years and a year as an intern, studying "The Rule of Health" which offered commonsense prescriptions for bathing, sleep habits, and nutrition.
