Victory occurs when a civilization satisfies one of the win conditions for an Era in the Facebook MMOG CivWorld.
Much of the information on this page comes from IGN's CivWorld Guide.[1]
Mechanics[]
The victory conditions are associated with the four categories of Technology, Culture, Economics, and Domination. The difficulty of each scales as they are won throughout the game - the more times one type of victory is won, the harder it will be to win that way again in subsequent Eras. For example, if a Civilization wins the Ancient Era with a Science Victory, the next Era could feature the same conditions for Culture, Economic, and Domination victories but have a harder Science condition. If a Science Victory is won again, the third Era could have an even harder Science condition. In short, it becomes progressively harder for anyone to keep winning Eras with the same kind of victory - the Civilization that diversifies is often strongest!
Victory conditions are counted per-Civilization, not per-player, meaning that the combined value of all the members of a Civilization added together is what will be counted. Each type of victory condition is evaluated as explained below.
Domination[]
Domination Victories are won by winning battles against sizable Civilizations. The first Civilization to win a battle against another Civilization whose size meets the current Domination Victory requirement will achieve the victory. Domination Victories scale much more slowly because they are generally more difficult to win.
Science[]
Science Victories are based on being the first to discover a specific technology. Whenever a Science Victory is won, the condition for the next Era will be a more advanced technology drawn from the following list:
- Writing
- Literacy
- Construction
- Warrior Code
- Monarchy
- Feudalism
- University
- Religion
- Invention
- Steam Power
- Printing Press
- Gunpowder
- Communism
- Industrialization
- The Corporation
- Atomic Theory
- Mass Media
- Electronics
- Networking
- Space Flight
- Superconductor
Culture[]
Culture Victories are won by being the first Civilization to build a target number of Wonders. Whenever a Culture Victory is won, the condition for the next Era will be a more difficult Wonder target.
The first and easiest Culture Victory goal is to build 3 Wonders. Difficulty increases from 3 up to a maximum of 21, based on the frequency of Culture Victories won.
Economic[]
Economic Victories are won by amassing a target amount of gold, measured by adding all the treasuries of all the players in the Civilization. Whenever an Economic Victory is won, the condition for the next Era will be a more difficult gold total.
The first and easiest Economic Victory is to acquire 20,000 gold. After each subsequent Economic Victory, the difficulty for the next one increases.
