Vikings Scenario Pack key art

The Vikings Scenario Pack is a DLC for Civilization VI released on December 20, 2016. It is now available to purchase on various digital game distributors including Steam.

Steam Description[]

Bring Europe under your rule as the mightiest Viking lord in the most detailed scenario released yet for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. The Viking Scenario Pack also includes three new Natural Wonders and six new City-States, two of which grant new tile improvements.

Includes six new City-States:

Play as a great ruler of the Dark Ages in the “Vikings, Traders, and Raiders!” Scenario:

  • 100 Turn Scenario, from 787 to 1087
  • Play as Harald Hardrada of Norway, King Canute of the Danes, or Olof Skotkonung of Sweden.
  • Launch a naval invasion of England, conquer Paris, find Vinland with an explorer, or sail through Gibraltar and raid the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Build a trade empire and profitable cities, or spread a religion and gain Faith Faith for your people.
  • Includes special art assets for leaders.

A play on 'Something is rotten in the state of Denmark', a famous line from William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Build an Alcazar within 2 tiles of the Alhambra
This may be a reference to a fortification network formed by the Alcazar together with the Alhambra, the latter of which was a fortress built during Moorish rule over Spain.
Finn MacCool's Pipe Organ
Finn MacCool's Pipe Organ
Build a Monastery within 2 tiles of the Giant's Causeway
A reference to a mythical Irish hunter-warrior who the legends credit with creating the Giant's Causeway.
God of the Sea
God of the Sea
Win Vikings, Traders, and Raiders! at Deity difficulty.
A play on the highest difficulty level's name, and a reference to the Norse's seafaring voyages and wars.
Master of the Baltic
Master of the Baltic
Win Vikings, Traders, and Raiders! as Olof Skötkonung.
A reference to Sweden's westerly location from the Baltic Sea, and its later domination of Finland.

More Hacksilver For Harald
Win Vikings, Traders, and Raiders! as Harald Hardrada
A reference to a form of Viking currency and Harald Hardrada's accumulation of wealth during his service in the Byzantine Empire.

Build three Aerodromes within 2 tiles of Eyjafjallajökull
Eyjafjallajökull erupted in 2010, disrupting air travel in northwestern Europe for six days.
